Grèbe esclavon - Horned/Slavonian grebe

 

Le grèbe esclavon est la seule espèce de Podicipedidé que nous avons en Islande. Chaque année, j'attendais avec impatience notre voyage au nord-ouest du pays pour pouvoir en prendre des photos, mais les choses changèrent l'année dernière. Qu'est il arriver l'an dernier? Je me suis enfin décidé à rentrer mes observations dans Ebird, chose que l'on devrait tous faire ;-) Et c'est ainsi qu'en cherchant un peu, j'ai pu voir que quelques couples étaient régulièrement observer sur des lacs, non loin de Reykjavík. Ils sont à 15 minutes de la maison en voiture, et je me suis donc décidé à aller voir en 2012. Voici donc quelques photos prises au lac Vifilsstaðavatn. J'espère cette année pouvoir les observer avec les petits sur le dos, voilà mon chalenge pour cette année.

The Horned grebe also called the Slavonian grebe is the only species of Podicipedidae we have in Iceland. Every year, I was waiting for our trip to occur to be able to take pictures of it. That was before last year. What happened last year? I decided to join Ebird and to enter my observation there, we should all do it ;-) This is how I realized that some Horned grebe were often observed on lakes quite close to Reykjavík, just at a 15 minutes drive by car. So I went there, on the lake Vifilsstaðavatn and was able to observed them and take pictures. This year, my new challenge will be to get pictures of them with the chicks on their back ;-) Let's see if I can do it ;-)

I do Ebird have for a for a couple of years now ! Sometimes I feel like am repeating the same birds daily at times,but once in a while , like last week 32 Bohemian Waxwings to far away with only a record shot!! grrr!
